September 25 @ 8:00 am - September 28 @ 5:00 pm

| N116,815

With unstable oil prices globally, as well as the likely downward trend for demand for oil world-wide, revenue accruing to Nigeria from oil has fallen significantly. Faced with this dilemma, there is an urgent need to diversify to other sectors of the economy. It is against this background, that government is focusing attention to other sectors of the economy. However, despite the potentials that could be harnessed from the solid minerals sector, lenders have not paid sufficient attention to this latent money-spinner. The purpose of this programme is to equip lenders and other stakeholders with the necessary competence and knowledge required to effectively lend to this strategic sector of the economy.

This course is targeted at executives handling the specialized lending and solid minerals desks in their institutions, as well as executives in the following functions who have oversight functions of the specialized lending and solid minerals desks such as: Credit risk management; Credit administration; internal control and audit. This programme is also targeted at executives in government agencies who regulate the solid minerals sector at the federal and state levels.

At the end of the course, participants should be able to effectively:

  • Gain knowledge of the dynamics of the solid minerals sector
  • Appreciate the need to develop the solid minerals sector
  • Appraise the solid minerals value chain
  • Appreciate challenges associated with lending to the sector and how to mitigate these challenges
