School of Cybersecurity

There is currently a global dearth of Cybersecurity Experts, organisations in different countries, Nigeria inclusive are in search of individuals with cybersecurity expertise as digital transformation has impacted the global market unprecedently. The world has gone digital, also the world of work, therefore the need to groom security experts that would secure the digital space that business and Individuals operate in.

In meeting this urgent global need in both financial and non-financial sectors, is the launch of the FITC School of Cybersecurity under its Future of Work Academy (FITC FOWA) to carter for this global need by collaborating with reputable and global institutions in delivering skill acquisition training that exposes the participant to live simulation of securing cyber-attacks. FITC FOWA is a future work skill acquisition program for youths and young professionals across the globe.

The School of Cybersecurity was launched in May 2023 with a virtual roundtable discussion that had in attendance different stakeholders in both the public and private sectors of the economy and financial and non-financial industries. The security programmes aimed at providing participants with real-life Cybersecurity simulations and tests that prepare them to become Cybersecurity experts.

The School of Cybersecurity has three (3) Learning Programmes

Cybersecurity

In this module, participants will be introduced to the principles and basics of cybersecurity and networking. The module offers an array of exciting topics that gear participants up on their journey to becoming cybersecurity experts.

This foundation course introduced participants to cybersecurity concepts, networking, and packet tracer fundamentals.

Target Participants

Mid-level Professionals Students, Undergraduates, Postgraduate students interested in diving into IT sector, Universities, Volunteers and Entry Level professionals.

This is a 6-week training programme, where participants would be learning techniques for securing database, securing networks and systems. Participants would acquire competence in developing different techniques to curb cybercrime; skills to enforce data database integrity through different controls and how to configure basic network security.

FITC FOWA Cybersecurity Simulation is a 10-month training that exposes participants to real-life simulation of cyber threats.  Participants will be equipped with cybersecurity practical skills, such as security monitoring, host-based analysis, Network intrusion analysis, Security policies procedures and others.
